At the clinic the contractions became 2 minutes apart. The doctors hadn't arrived yet, so they didn't check me, but just sent me on to the hospital. By the time we started to leave I couldn't walk to the car, so they got me a wheelchair and Blake went and got the car. Then the exciting part begins. Blake was getting to do, as he puts it, every man's dream. Drive fast while his wife is in labor with his flashers on in the emergency lane, honking his horn and driving through red lights. I was a little nervous. It was rush hour traffic and at this point I have leaned the seat back and am having to breath through my contractions. They are pretty intense at this point.
We get to the hospital entrance at 8:20 and try to get somebody to bring us a wheel chair. People looked at us like we had come to the wrong place. We finally get a wheelchair and I can't get out of the car because my contractions are so long and intense. I managed to get out of the car. Blake was going to go park his car, but I told him we didn't have time. We get in there and of course they are wanting to know if we have preregistered and Blake said, "She is about to have this baby!" They get Wilma to take me up to labor and delivery. By this point I feel like I need to push. Wilma got a little nervous so she started moving a little faster. We get to the delivery room and I am 10 cm dialated and ready to push, but the doctor was delivering another baby so they were telling me to not push. The doctor got in there about 9:00 I started pushing and by 9:20 Baby Lainey was in the world. It was amazing and intense all at the same time. I couldn't believe we did it! I can't believe women do this everyday. We are having such a sweet time with her and Brayden is loving her and adjusting extremely well. Enjoy the pics and the videos!
